Finally, our first long weekend with stunning weather in 2009!… Hopefully everyone is enjoying it by playing outside… It seems we are having a summer after all… belated, but it is better than none at all!
Seema is organizing Le Club français‘s next outing… we had to cancel the one in August because most people were on vacation. So far, Alice and Jianlin confirmed that they would be attending on September 18.
Lately I have been told that my tests were kind of difficult… were they? Anyways I thought I would give something different to try out today: there are some words in French that people pronounce differently although there is only one correct way to say them… it will be interesting to see the results… I took the quizz and I got a perfect mark… well, I teach French therefore I have to make sure my students learn how to pronounce those words correctly.
Today, for the first time, I do not have anything on my agenda… except enjoy this gorgeous day and I do intend to enjoy it fully!

J’ai eu 45/50… J’ai longtemps hésité pour “et cetera”, et j’ai choisi la mauvaise réponse !!
En ce qui concerne “août”, en France beaucoup de personnes prononcent le “t”, mais cette réponse n’était pas proposée… J’ai donc répondu que le “t” n’était pas prononcé, mais par défaut !
Il fait chaud ici en ce moment (30°C aujourd’hui !), ça fait penser aux vacances, mais malheureusement, le début de l’année scolaire ne fait que commencer…

Tu as obtenu un bon score! Je sais qu’il y a certaines differences quant à la prononciation tout dépendant dans quel pays de la francophonie nous vivons!
Mark m’avait posé la question quant à la prononciation du mot “août”… il est allé à l’école au Koweit, dans des lycées français, et il a appris à prononcer le “t” final… mais, au cours de ses quatre ans au Canada, il a remarqué qu’on ne prononçait jamais le “t” ici!…
Ici aussi c’est l’été… il a fait une fin de semaine absolument extraordinaire (et c’était un congé férié), alors tout le monde en a profité… dommage que l’école ait recommencé il y a presque deux semaines: les jeunes ici auraient bien aimé prolongé leurs vacances d’été (juillet et le début d’août les ont plus ou moins confinés à l’intérieur!)…
Profite de ce beau temps pendant qu’il est là! Ça ne risque pas de durer encore très longtemps!… Bonne semaine!
