I am sure many of you were waiting for a new quiz… therefore, here it is! Today I chose to test your abilities regarding “paronymes” (words that are almost “homonymes” because they do look alike)… For instance, the adjectives “éminent” and “imminent”…
Of course, ideally you should try my little quiz without using a dictionary since it is about testing your knowledge… I admit I did hesitate on one, but I finally opted for the correct word. Therefore, I got another perfect score! I am convinced you can do the same… and let me know if it were easy, tricky or difficult to do it cold turkey!…

J’ai obtenu 30/50 encore (sans dictionnaire)! J’ai trouvé ce test un peu difficile, mais je sais que je peux faire mieux.

J’ai inversé “exprès” et “express”, “blanchissement” et “blanchiment”, et j’ai utilisé “anoblit” au lieu de “ennoblit”… Je commence à me demander si je suis réellement française

Pas mal du tout pour un anglo Dave! Surtout sans l’aide du dictionnaire…
Le “hic” dans ce quiz, c’est que dès que l’on choisit un mauvais terme au début, one’s cooked!!!

En effet il y a des jours comme celui-ci où l’on se demande ce que l’on est véritablement… ainsi, moi qui passe du français à l’anglais et de l’anglais au français constamment, je suis parfois à la recherche de mon identité véritable!
Entre nous… il m’arrive de dire “faire” une décision au lieu de “prendre” une décision (lorsque j’oublie de changer de chapeau!). Si je n’étais pas prof de français, je pense que j’éprouverais aussi de la difficulté à faire tous mes petits tests pièges… je n’ai aucun mérite parce que je suis littéralement “collée” à la grammaire tous les jours de ma vie!
